Dallas Cowboys Last Super Bowl Appearance
Pittsburgh Steelers Vs Dallas CowboysSuperBowl 13.
The Dallas Cowboys are set to take the field this evening for their second preseason game of the 2016 NFL season. Jason Garrett and his team are fresh off of a 28-24 loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Rams to begin their preseason play. Now, they are focused on improving and evening their record at 1-1 against the Miami Dolphins.
Last season was a brutal year for Jerry Jones’ Cowboys. They were expected to compete for a playoff spot in the NFC and many thought they had the talent to make a run deep into the postseason. Unfortunately, injuries to both Tony Romo and Dez Bryant brought the Dallas Super Bowl chances crashing down.
Looking ahead to the 2016 season, there are high hopes and expectations that they will turn things around and get back to the top of the NFC East division.
Nothing can be counted on at this point in time, but if the Cowboys stay healthy they are going to be a very dangerous team. They may not have a top defense, but they have playmakers on both sides of the football. Adding Ezekiel Elliott gives the Cowboys the legitimate ground threat that they needed last season after seeing DeMarco Murray leave in free agency.
All of that being said, what three things should fans keep their eyes on in tonight’s preseason action?
- Big freeze engulfs Dallas during Super Bowl week. Packers and Steelers freezing inside an empty Cowboys Stadium on Media Day.
- Anyway, the Dallas Cowboys clobbered those Washington Redskins with one “touchdown” after another until the score was 44 to. Brady come the Super Bowl.
Can Dak Prescott Continue Showing He’s the QB of the Future?
Tony Romo only has a few good years of football left to be played. Dak Prescott showed off his skill-set last week by completing 10 of his 12 attempts for 139 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. Prescott could very well be the heir apparent to Romo and he will have a lot of eyes watching him closely this week.
Dallas Special Teams Play with Lucky Whitehead
Even though special teams isn’t talked about very much, it is an incredibly important part of a football team. Lucky Whitehead broke off a 101-yard kick return last week and it will be interesting to see just how dangerous he is capable of being. Dallas could use a serious threat in the return game and Whitehead is hoping to be that guy for them.
Is the Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams Duo Finally Playing to Its Full Potential?
Dallas Cowboys First Super Bowl Appearance
If the Cowboys want to compete for a Super Bowl appearance this season, they will need both Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams playing at a very high level. Last week, Bryant caught two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown, while Williams chipped in with one catch for 32 yards and a touchdown. Williams and Bryant have the potential to be a deadly duo and it will be interesting to see if they can play to their full potential on a consistent basis.
